OCTA and our Southern Trails Chapter have launched our online registration page for our Spring 2018 Symposium, being held at the Elks Lodge (1400 E. Pima St.) in Gila Bend, Arizona from Friday, March 2 through Sunday, March 4. The OCTA board will meet on the evening of Thursday, March 1 and all day on Friday, March 2, with the symposium kicking off on Friday. Printed materials will be available in the next issue of News From the Plains, which will arrive in your mailbox right after the New Year.

You will note that all speakers, tours, and meals EXCEPT for the Friday night dinner are included in your registration fee this year (breakfast not included). We strove to make this symposium exceptionally inexpensive, and that includes the price of your overnight accommodations. All-inclusive individual registrations are $105; couples are $165; educators are $50; and students are $40. The Elks Club is sponsoring the Friday night dinner, and your choices for that meal begin at only $10.

OCTA has a room block at  America's Choice Inn & Suites, which is located at 2888 Butterfield Trail in Gila Bend. The room block is valid from Thursday March 1 to Sunday, March 4. We have negotiated 10% discount off normal rates, so be sure to mention our room block when you call. Singles are available for $67.50/night and doubles at $76.50/night. Call (877) 778-3789 to make your reservation. The discount is not available on their website.

For those of you who want to bring your RV to Arizona, OCTA has also reserved 20 spots at the KOA Campground, located at 800 South Butterfield Trail in Gila Bend. The rate is $31.50/night, which also represents a 10% discount off of published rates. Be sure to mention OCTA when you call to make your reservation to get the discount. Call KOA at (928) 683-2850. KOA is only a half-mile from the hotel.
