The Rocky Mountain Dutch Oven Cooking Company offers a weekend seminar, taught by Riverton's Jack Schmidt ( a frequent pioneer trail re-enactor) where students will use various fuels to season and cook in their new cast iron Dutch oven. The $230 (cabin) or $251 (room) fee (taxes included; $55 for the second person) also includes a set of cooking gear, one night's stay at the inn, four meals and a guided tour of the South Pass City State Historic Site and Carissa gold mine. The Idaho chapter of OCTA will be hosting the national OCTA convention at the Nampa Civic Center.
