Marvin comes from very humble beginnings. He has no relatives (that that he knows of) who traveled by covered wagon over the famous Trails. He was born and raised in Denver, CO, and eventually graduated from the University of Colorado with a Business Degree in Accounting.

Before the graduation he was privileged to spend two years in the U.S. Army, spending one year in Germany. Soon after graduation he went to San Francisco and started a career in the U.S. Government.  Five months later he returned to Denver to marry Dorene Myers. They stayed in San Francisco for six years, and this was during the Hippie Era - a most interesting group of folks.  (They could see them in the Park in the morning and then see the same folks near the same blanket in the evening.)  Six years later, groveling finally paid off, and Marvin was transferred to Denver.  He spent 38 years with this Agency, and after four years of retirement, he was asked to come back and teach for five years.

Marvin and Dorene joined OCTA about five years ago.  They have thoroughly enjoyed the Conventions, with emphasis on the Pre-Convention Tours. Marvin says his present "position" as tresurer should prove to be most interesting, and he still wonders, "What have I done!"
